Speech Pathologist
Duties and Responsibilities: Speech-language pathologists work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.  Speech, language, and swallowing disorders result from a variety of causes, such as a stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, developmental delay, Parkinson’s disease, a cleft palate or autism.


Salary: $73,410 per year


Education: In order to become a Speech Pathologist you are going to need a Master’s Degree.


Demand for this profession: Employment of speech-language pathologists to grow 21% from 2014 to 2024.
