Yoga Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: As a Yoga Therapist you would use yoga to help with physical and emotional issues or specific health problems. They work with people who have a range of physical problems, such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure or back pain. They also help people who have emotional issues like stress, anxiety or depression. Some of their work activities are:
  • Decide on a programme of therapy
  • Teach a range of yoga postures from simple moves to more complex ones
  • Teach breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and visualization exercises
  • Give advice on how to maintain good health and a sense of inner peace and relaxation.

Salary: $19,610 and $44,420 annually

Education: To become a Yoga Therapist, you will need to be a qualified Yoga teacher and have taken a course in Yoga therapy.

Demand for this profession: Employment of Yoga Therapist is projected to grow 8% from 2014 to 2024.

No I wouldn’t like to be one because I don’t see myself doing yoga. I don’t even like yoga. I haven’t tried it but I’m never thinking of trying it though. They don’t get paid well also..
